Hot take (maybe super wrong): Gausman was tipping.
So I dont know what it was, but if you look at pitch sequences, the Stros capitalized on high middle cut high velocity sliders that never really cut in the 1rst. Almost every productive swing in the first was off that same pitch. I know there’s wisdom to getting to Gausman in the 1rst, but the bats were swinging with the confidence of a secret knowledge. I wouldnt be surprised if the clubhouse identified a tell before this game.
