Hot take: Houston’s food scene is confidently mediocre.

Sure, there are a few truly exceptional restaurants where everything hits: service, cooking, wine, design, intention. But for such a massive, diverse, and self hyped city those places really feel few and far between.

What do you think are the spots that actually rise above the mediocre influencer hype?

I want to add: Don’t even get me started on the Michelin guide. If a great spot and a mediocre spot win the same award, does it really mean anything?
