Hospice Care/Home Nurse Service Recommendation Request

My dad is in home hospice for terminal cancer under the care of Houston Hospice.

We recently asked Houston Hospice about additional assistance and they told us the only thing available beyond weekly nurse visits and providing medication is having someone come and bathe my father.

However, we’re at the point where we physically need more help with his daily care. The 3 of us daughters are trying to work, and at the same time provide full-time care for my dad, and my mom is very clearly at her limit but too proud to ask for help. I just called to have someone come to put in a catheter tomorrow. It’s the most challenging aspect at this point.

It’s clear to me that we need more professional help. My mom won’t let my dad’s sister come and help. I’m trying to make sure my dad gets the help he needs to be comfortable during this time AND my family gets the help we need before it becomes completely unworkable.

Do you have any recommendations for or know of any services that can help with more around the clock assistance? Ideally a place that takes Medicare and/or private insurance (Cigna).
