Horseback riding options?

Does anyone know of any affordable options for casual horseback riding? Something that would be able to be done long-term but infrequently?

A lot of websites only offer guided rides with at best a trotting pace. I was wondering if there are any places that would allow for slightly faster riding for a person with some experience. Preferably Central to North Houston.
