Homeowners insurance…wow

So my wife has accepted a job in the Webster/Pasadena/Clearlake area and we were going to move from San Antonio, but looking at homeowners insurance…Good God!!! $600 a month??? And that was on the cheap end! I understand those that have lived there might be paying less than that but wow. And that was on a $300,000 home! I realize living in San Antonio, where we get half the rain than you guys do, I am somewhat spoiled. But damn that’s a put off because I wanted to get outta here and move there, now I’m not sure we could because insurance of all things.
