Homeless car damage

This morning at the 45 and 249 stoplight, a couple of homeless guys were washing windshields like they usually do. Of course he starts, and I say no. He keeps going so I start the windshield wipers. He then throws a punch at my windshield creating a nice spiderweb crack over my driver side.

Hopefully some others can see this and be careful but what do I even do in this situation? Is filing a police report worth it?
