Home insurance recommendations

Our home insurance in Houston just more than doubled ($1,800 to $3,600). We've started to shop around and are having a hard time finding any companies that will even cover it, mind you give us a better quote.. A lot of agents are telling us that their companies no longer cover Harris County. What is going on? Any recommendations for companies that still cover the area?

It seems like things are moving quite fast. The last quote we got last week apparently the company changed their policy in that last few days to no longer cover Harris County.
