Home buying – Acre homes area

My wife and I recently moved to Houston and are looking to buy our first home. We recently looked at a few new construction townhomes in the 77091 area and liked them. My impression was that there is a lot of new construction going on in this area and seems like a good area for a first home.

I am looking for people's comments/ experience living in this area and property values in the area
