Hit by a car Walking – Missouri City

I apologize if Missouri City isn't considered enough of Houston. I know that City of Houston is my water supplier, so hey, maybe this counts?

Yesterday, at about 1030, I was walking back from my local corner store with a sammich and a couple packs of smokes when someone pulled a hit and run on me. I'm absolutely fine. I mean, I hurt, but nothing was broken, I barely have any abrasions, my wife is a medical professional and has checked me out and has determined that I just need a supply of Tylenol and I'll be okay. It took me five to ten seconds to get up and the sumbitch had driven off. I did realize it was a two-door red car, but I'll be honest, I was hit from behind and that was about it.

I walk with a cane. In Missouri City, the sidewalks are neglected if they even exist, so you will often see people with mobility issues on the sides of the streets. There are several people in wheelchairs that I will push around when we run into one another, because sometimes there is a three-quarter inch gap in the sidewalks and they aren't getting up that easily.

I did not file a police report, because who cares? I don't have enough information and I'm not hurt as much as sore. I've taken worse injuries LARPing. But I would like to know, if you guys have information, who do I talk to about making the sidewalks safe?
