High speed train from Houston to Dallas – Can approved route change if going forward in 2024? Harris county in Hockley!
I am in Hockley Texas and the route is going right across the street from my property. When I look at the approved route on the project website, it is going right thru a big master planned housing developmemt currently being built down our street.
I hear Harris county is supporting this raill project, so why approve permits to a developer to build a bunch of houses that is going directly thru the middle of this developmemt.
I have looked up the development plans for this new community and they have no mention of this and advertising it as a place with 450 of parks and beautiful waterways and views.
I know in 2022 Texas courts are allowing rail company to take property via eniment domain so people buying there are going to be surprised if project moves forward. Or can they reroute and likely affect my property. I was in 2 of the proposed routes before selecting one of the 2 not taking any of our property. I dont like the idea of having a 200 mph train across the street on the road easment on our 2 lane road but dont want my property to be taken because of a development was built knowing the route was approved to go thru there before development was started Anyone that knows any updates on this project since back in the news of a possibility again.
