Hernia surgeon help ..is this normal?

Hi I need some help please. My father is in his early 70s with an inguinal hernia and is currently waiting on Medicare part B approval (it’s been several months, he filed in mid February ). His surgeon will be performing a robot right inguinal repair with mesh and possible open. That being said, the surgeon he is seeing won’t do the surgery on him until part B is approved. And bc of his pain levels he prescribed him pain medications, but failed to inform him his script would only last for 10 days and now he is without any medication and is still waiting for Medicare approval …

I can’t really find many reviews online for this surgeon although it says he is board certified I’m still a little confused why there’s not many reviews. That along with the fact that he has seemingly refused to help my father with possible financial aid or give him resources has left a bad taste in my mouth. Maybe I’m in the wrong, is that just normal behavior?

Does anyone have any surgeons they can recommend in the Houston area that may be able to help my father and his situation? This is extremely frustrating and any help would be greatly appreciated
