Here’s why I think Tucker won’t be traded.

I have said that I think we should trade Tucker, but here's why I don't think we are gonna.

The front office has made it clear they don't just want prospects for Tucker, and they are making this move in an attempt to improve the team for next season, not going into a full rebuild. The issue with this is Tucker only has a year left. The teams that would benefit from this are win-now teams (teams who are actively building their team with one-year contracts as an all-in for next season). Those teams aren't going to want to give up pieces that the Astros would need to improve (SP, 3B, 1B). The Cubs wouldn't make sense. Why would they trade two big pieces for one year of Kyle Tucker when they are still quite far away from contending? The only thing I can see is that he might be more likely to resign with a team that has him next season. I feel like if the Cubs do trade for him, we will see him on the trading block by the next trade deadline. I think there'll be talks, and it might even get close to happening, but I don't think any team will give enough for one year of Tucker for it to be worth it for the Astros unless either party is stupid.
