Help with taking drivers test?

Hi everyone,

Long story short, I recently moved to Houston from out of state and recently had a birthday and my license was going to expire this year. Some of my documentation was lost during the move and didn't receive it from my home state until after my birthday. I still went to my appointment at DPS to try to see if I could use any other documentation to transfer my license but I couldn't.

Now I'm in a weird situation where I'm required to take the driving test to get my license but I can't drive myself to DPS to take the driving exam and have only been here for a few weeks so I really haven't had the chance to make friends with anyone who would be willing to go there and wait for me.

I've tried contacting DPS to ask them if there was any way I could do a homebound appointment, contacted Houston 2-1-1, and contacted my home state to see if there was a way I could get an extension to drive legally. I feel like I've tried all the resources that are out there but haven't had any luck with finding anything.

Does anyone know a way I can get this done? Thanks for any help!
