Help with cat
We need to re-home our cat. Since we brought home a new baby he is aggressive to me & the baby, and is urinating all over the house. We have been giving him anxiety medication for three months with no change.
The cat used to be sweet, but over the past three years has become aggressive and quite honestly scary. If he’s nervous or anxious he becomes violent. When the baby cries he screams and stalks the baby. He hasn’t attacked the baby yet but I’m terrified he will.
The problem is, no rescue groups will take the cat. I’ve contacted about 25. The cat is just too behaviorally challenged to be considered adoptable. The only option we’ve been able to find is the city shelter. I don’t want to do that because I know he will be put down – he’s honestly an awful cat and is not going to be adopted.
On top of the problem of not having a place for him to go, we don’t know how to get him out of the house. The cat becomes extremely aggressive and viciously attacks (my arm is covered in scars from him) if we try and take him out the house or put him in the cat carrier.
Does anyone have any ideas or know of any service/groups in houston that might (A) help remove the cat from our house (e.g. sedate him) and/or (B) rescue a non adoptable cat? Like a cat sanctuary or some kind?
I’m totally at a loss about what to do with this cat.
