Help with autographs

Astro fans as a Giants fan I come in peace!

Just looking for some information or helpful tips and tricks on getting a ball signed from a player. Mr. Dubon (how I miss him) threw me a ball last season while the Giants played the Cubs and I would love to have him sign it.

1. How do I go about getting something like this done?

2. My initial thought would be to send it to the club with a letter but if that is the way what are the chances I ever see that ball again? It does have some sentimental value to me so I don’t want to put myself in a predicament that I never see the ball again. I would rather keep the ball than risk loosing it.
