Help! Relocating from Ohio

So I’ve never been to Texas but I am relocating for personal reasons. I don’t know anyone in Texas and I will be moving by myself. Im a young single woman. I want to meet new people and make new friends so I’m trying to figure out what neighborhoods would be good to look at when renting an apartment. Someone told me to try Heights, Galleria and Midtown but I recently saw on this sub that some had said that the crime in Midtown has gone up. I was only looking at those areas because they were recommended by someone who use to live in Texas and they said there are a lot of young professionals living in the area so I thought it would make it easier meeting new people. My first concern is safety since I’m by myself, but I would also like to live somewhere it isn’t just all families and kids everywhere. I’m looking for a 1 bedroom apartments that’s 750+ sq ft or at least has room so I can work from home my budget is $1500 a month or less. I’m open to other neighborhoods, that may have what I’m looking outside of what was recommended to me. I’m planning to move in End of April beginning of May.
