HCAD Property Protest Tips & Tricks
For anyone who has self protested with HCAD, what tips and tricks have been the most successful for you. What mentions have actually made an appraiser take your points into consideration.
I just did mine and it went nothing like past years. Usually I get 25 to 30 thousand off using comps, curb appeal, and property issues. This year with a one person panel the appraiser pushed back on everything. Only three homes sold in my neighborhood so I used those plus some from other neighborhoods that were even in their own packet but they told me I could not use them. Ended up with just a 10 thousand reduction.
