Have you been to Grown-Up Story Time yet?

Hey all, the 184th Grown-Up Story Time is at Continental Club tonight. If you haven't been, and you've lived in Houston for more than a minute, it's an evening where anyone can send in stories and then other folks read them onstage. I highly recommend it as a casual theater experience on a Tuesday with Hornitonk down the block if you get a little dancin' bug. It's $10 at the door but it's streamed on youtube for anyone who can't make it out (also if you want to come in person but are having $$ flow issues, happy to spot anyone a ticket just send me a message).

With a team of folks including one of the founders, Emily Hynds, I've helped produce the show for a little over 5 years now and if you have a story that needs a stage, or if you'd like to get up onstage at the Continental Club and read a story, I hope you'll reach out so we can get you into the mix of writers and readers who've participated since 2007 upstairs at Rudyards. There are GUST offshoots in other cities, but as far as I know, this is one of the longest-running crowd-sourced community storytelling events.

Would love to know if anyone who haunts the reddit has been before, or if they know of any similar storytelling events (that are not the Moth)?

Edited to add: It's the 3rd Tuesday of every month. So if you can't catch it tonight, hope to see you September 16th 🙂
