Has the drought in Houston reached the point where we should be watering our foundations?

This summer is giving me 2011 vibes with the drought, trees dying and now the burn ban. I remember back then that some houses started to have foundation issues because the soil was so dry it shrunk and cracked to the point it caused foundation issues for houses on slabs. I was living in an apartment at the time and since then it’s always been wet enough in the summer it never crossed my mind.

Are y’all watering your houses yet? Should we be? If so what’s the recommendation for how long/how much water?
