Has anyone tried shrinking a flat brim 59fifty?

I’m a 7 1/2 and this is all I could find in stock. I’ve watched videos of soaking just the head band and then drying high heat. Is there any potential danger to trying that? I’d rather wear this hat a smidge big than ruin it getting a proper fit.
