Has anyone in unincorporated Harris County ever had a well put in?

Long story short, title essentially.

When we were looking at houses, we found several out 290 and Grand Parkway that had wells in addition to utility groundwater. Our house is in the same region but still in unincorporated Harris County and does not have a well.

Now that I have a house, is there anything to stop me from putting in a well (assuming all county permits and codesare followed)? Has anyone else done this?
