Has anyone considered buying a cheap condo just for the school district?

Hi, we have 2 school-aged kids and struggling to find a house zoned to a good school that fits our budget. We’re very comfortable with our mortgage right now and I don’t want us to be house poor. I thought about buying a cheap condo (100-200k) that’s zoned to good schools (elem-HS) so we can use the address. Even if we don’t rent out the condo, the mortgage, taxes, HOA, etc, in my calculation are still cheaper than private school tuition for 2 kids.

Has anyone had the same idea and did you go ahead with it?

Edit: some people are a bit salty about this so I’ll add some context. I live 10’ from the targeted condo. I have no problem making it my primary residence (changing my DL address) and just let one of my relatives live there instead of collecting rents. As far as I can tell, I should satisfy the residency requirement. An average house in the vicinity costs $800k+ and nowhere as nice as my current house.
