Hard Rock Cafe to close downtown Houston location after 20 years

Hard Rock Cafe’s downtown Houston outpost will close its doors permanently May 27, the Florida-based company told the Texas Workforce Commission in a March 23 Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act letter. 

Along with closing the restaurant, at 502 Texas St., the company will cut 39 jobs. The WARN letter did not include a reason for the closure, and it’s unclear whether anything about the closure is related to the coronavirus pandemic. On March 20, Hard Rock International temporarily…
