Hanging out around the Heights/Memorial

Hey there! My boyfriend and I recently moved to the memorial/heights area specifically around shepard/washington. We are on the hunt for some local spots to hang out on during the evening and some ourdoor sites for during the days. We frequent the Bayou and a couple restaurantes but havent ventured out too much. Were pretty chill people, we like the outdoors and small bars/eaterys. I like when there is stuff to do at said place but im not gainst a dive. Darwins pub looks like it has some cool stuff for an example. Any suggestions from the established locals? Thanks in advanced!
