Guys how did you defeat your fear of tree cockroaches?

I saw one in my room yesterday and still have PTSD. It was so fucking big. 2 inches probably. Screamed and my dad killed it. At this rate I legitimately don't know how im gonna live alone. I have to move out in a year for med school and honestly IDK how im gonna do this if this happens when im alone 🙃. Hopefully I get in somewhere with less cockroaches 😭💀💀💀. Like yalllllll, LIFE IS ALREADY HARD. WHY DO WE HAVE COCKROACHES????
