Groups walking areound downtown?

This week and weekend I have seen a ton of these groups of 5-30 people wallking around with backpacks and matching shirts. Normally you just see these by the convention center, but I have been seeing them all over downtown and even midtown in places no tourist has any business walking. Looks like they must be doing a scavenger hunt or something?
