GroupMe or Slack channel for programmers/developers/swe that just want to geek out

I'm a new junior dev that's a .net developer by day, and a learner of things by night. I would like to make some kind of channel or group chat where we could just talk about tech/current projects (work or side)/etc. Normally I would go to Starbucks and just ask the person next to me what they're working on, or go to a FreeCodeCamp meetup as a form of socialization, but that's not really an option right now. Currently, I'm learning React, so as an example it would be fun to talk about how weird React looks compared to plain Javascript. I'm also reading Scrum: The Art of doing Twice the Work in Half the Time.
