Green flashes of lightning??

I was getting off from work at Bush Airport tonight when the storm started. As I was driving on the beltway I noticed a lot of regular lightning but every now and then there would also be big green flashes in the sky. And I've never seen that before is that normal? It was kind of tripping me out. Did anybody else catch these green flashes? Unfortunately I didn't record any of it.
