Gov. Abbott tells Texas universities to disregard new Title IX protections for LGBTQ+ students
The new rules, which take effect Aug. 1, say schools cannot discriminate against LGBTQ+ or pregnant students. The governor also directed the Texas Education Agency to ignore the changes.
