Grew up in Houston but now live in the Valley. Was in town visiting family. I was on Westpark Drive & the Beltway. Was in the far left lane & had a green light. Know how bad the red light running is here so I waited but eventually went. And was struck by a red light runner, paper tags, & no insurance. Black guy got out of his car & acted like he was going to exchange insurance information but got in his car & fleed. Almost running me over in the process. There happened to a tow truck driver who witnessed the incident & chased after the defendant until he crashed into a tree at the Walmart on the Beltway & Beechnut. Gentleman ran inside the Walmart until the cops were called, & he was subsequently arrested. Lesson learned. Get a dashcam, full coverage (including uninsured collision coverage). Now I'm stuck in Houston with $5,000 in auto repair bills. I was hit by a drunk driver on Westpark & the Beltway on Thanksgiving 5 years ago.
