Got a fence repair quote for $3000. Is this reasonable? Any recommendations from the Spring area?

I am currently out of town and my neighbor just informed us that our backyard fence fell down (shown in first pic). I am in the process of getting quotes but I don't even know how to begin. What things should I be asking for?

He got a quote for $3000. Is this reasonable? I was thinking $34/ft is too much.

Info:

  • Not sure what the current fence material is, probably pine?

  • The entire length of the fence is about 90ft. Looking the at image (since I'm not at home) it looks like about 40ft of fencing fell.

  • It's about 6-7ft tall

Questions:

  • Do I have to replace the entire fence? Would it be better/cheaper to replace the fallen sections?

  • What material should I look into? I want to be frugal but not cheap.

  • Is there anything else I should do to maintain the longevity of the fence?
