Good spots to check out the Perseid meteor shower?

All of the cool places I know around the city are only indoors, and the gf would like me to take her somewhere to catch the Perseid meteor shower happening tonight/this week. Does anyone know of any good areas with low light pollution for stargazing? We're out in the Katy/Fulshear/Brookshire area but willing to drive some.
