Good Ophthalmologists for people at high risk for ocular issues (risk of retinopathy, macular degeneration)?

I've searched the sub for good recommendations but don't see recommendations that fit what my needs are.

I've been a type 1 diabetic for 25 years and have family history of macular degeneration. I do not currently have ocular issues, but since I've been diabetic a long time I need someone in my tool box with experience in what to watch for since this is a common age when complications start to show.

Any experience? TIA
