Good landscaper / gardeners?

Hi, new to Houston, first time having a big yard. The previous owners seemed to have an elaborate irrigation system that is in disrepair. I need someone who can help me get things in order, help me understand what plants will be happy in this environment (I'm from the North East) and get me on the track to reviving the property to its full potential. Not necessarily looking for a weekly gardener thing — I enjoy doing the work — just looking for consultation and a few days of work to get things in a good spot. Thanks!
