Good apartments to live in Houston?

I would be moving alone and price range would be below 1200k a month Is this reasonable? I’m concerned about my safety because I see frequent break ins in a lot of these complex’s, so it might be a better choice to get one that’s gated. I’m also a young women lol. HELP?!
