Go Texan Day 2026

I am headed to Houston for the first time with my teen in February. We don’t have a lot of time but I would like to take her to do something. We only have a Thursday evening and Friday morning(until 3) free. We will be staying near the convention center.

I see that Go Texan Day(February)is going on but I can’t quite figure out what/where/when it actually is. Is this something that would be fun to take her to or should I stay away.

Do you suggest anything else that’s a must do while we are there? We are from DC so we have regular access to nice museums and I see a lot of recommendations for those but unless they are different or spectacular we’d like to do something more unique to the area.
