GM Resumes

I’m kidding about this of course. But we do have a new GM coming. Give us your idea of what you would do (realistically) to Bandaid what OBrien has done.

My thoughts (We are starting at an estimated $-12MM

Trades:

BMac for a mid rounder (frees up $7MM) Kenny Stills to Pats (now) for a mid rounder

Resign Will Fuller, PJ Hall and Roderick Johnson to team friendly deals. Maaaaaybe Gareon Conley depending on how he looks when/if he comes back.

Cut David Johnson, Zach Fulton, Brandon Dunn freeing up $13.2MM

Trade….I hate this…..trade JJ Watt for a late 2nd. Frees up $17MM.

The moves gave us $25MM in cap. Fuller, Hall and RJ likely take about $12+3+2 respectively. So $8M left.

Sign Christian Covington and Rex Burkhead. Takes some needs off our plate.

R3 pick 7 trade back for Cowboys 3,20 and 3,34

3a – RG

3b – NT

4a – ILB

4b – ILB

4c – CB (for BMac)

Use our 1st in 2022 for an Edge Rushing DE.

It’s early and the Draftees will change dramatically. Key though is we build to run with a RG and RB (Burkhead with Duke) and to stop the run with a NT and pair of ILBs to replace BMac/Cole.

We will have to hope Smith/Merci and Martin/Greenard can rush the passer for 1 year and get help in 2022. It’s going to be a long year.
