Give me some tips on visiting houston

So I’ve heard good things about houston and I want to check it out. I live in Maryland and want to relocate to the south.

I’m planning on visiting mid November.

What’s a good area to stay in/to look for apartments?

Any Bars or restaurants to try out? Etc

Right now I’ve been looking at midtown/Houston heights/river oaks area. I’m a single 29 year old black male $90k salary and looking to live inside of a main area. I don’t want to live in the suburbs(Atleast I don’t think so)
