Getting from downtown Houston to Katy area late at night?

Hi,

I’m from out of town and planning to go out in downtown Houston tonight and am trying to figure out if I should just plan to Uber home or if there are any less expensive and safe public transport options I could set up beforehand to save $/to be prepared in case we can’t get an Uber. Even if no reliable transport goes all the way out to Katy after 2am, are there any buses/lines/rails etc that might safely take me to somewhere outside dt that’s at least cheaper or easier to Uber from? Any input or advice is appreciated 🙂 thank you!
