Getting followed at Houston Memorial Park Picnic Loop at all hours by men.

I go to the picnic loop to cycle a few times a week and park on picnic area 1; which is facing memorial avenue and the safest.

The problem is that this park is being used for prostitution & sale of narcotics 24/7 specially in picnic area 2. This behavior is very noticeable and everyone tries to tolerate the 🏳️‍🌈 community but quiet often some members (usually caucasian men past their prime) start harassing the public.

I spoke to other regular cyclists & the police alike and was told by the police that this is an ongoing problem and that they can perform an arrest bc these people aren’t doing anything illegal.

The drug deals are very noticeable! Two cars enter park together, then drive together to random designated spot. One individual gets out of their vehicle and enter other persons car. A few minutes later, transaction is complete and they leave together. Neither one looks like they have workout clothes on! Sometimes you see women with children in the back of the vehicle do this. It is like the fast food window ordering for illegal drugs.

The prostitution is similar behavior but usually takes longer longer to service clients and it is always the same pattern of vehicles. This pattern stands out bc there isn’t that much traffic at the picnic loop park (specially on weekdays) so regulars cyclist notice these sort of things.

Then you have the creeps! LGBT men that follow you around the park wether you are cycling or jogging, training your dog or simply eating lunch. It is more scary when they catch you by your parked car and try come and talk to you repeatedly.

Don’t try taking your sweaty clothes off bc then they will sit behind your car inside theirs with popcorn and a soda like they are watching porn at some weirdo’s cinema.

No means no! Not maybe tomorrow or ever. I started carrying a go pro camera with me and a gun.
