Gay bar to go alone for good conversation tonight

I'm in my late 50s and I just really feel like getting out of the house tonight but I haven't been out in a very long time. I'm a gay guy and live in the heights but I can hang with all kinds of people including alternative bars like numbers Etc. Can anyone recommend a place I can go have a cocktail and maybe enjoy some conversation with other people at the bar. Not looking to hook up just hoping to meet friendly people that would enjoy chatting. I was thinking Numbers but it's so loud and I'm not really up for that tonight. Hell I could even do a piano bar. I just don't know anything about the scene since I haven't been out in so long. Can anyone recommend a place?
