Furniture flipping? Where to look?
So this is something I've been partially doing for a while but also having a lot of issues.
In the past, maybe 6 months I've managed to flip 3 pieces of furniture. Basically using FB Marketplace/CL and looking for ran down, cheap/free or just not the best looking pieces and refinishing them to make them have new life. I'm really proud of what I've done and no counting materials I've had to buy to start, I've probably profited a couple $100 from it.
The issue is, now I have a little spare money and want to actively pick back up on it again but I just can't catch a break. FB Marketplace is littered with people thinking their chipped up nightstand from the 80s is worth $100 or their terrible condition china cabinet is an antique that they want $500. CL is full of scammers, non-responders or just people who again, want too much money for what they have.
OfferUp is okay, but a lot of dead listings where they have it posted but no longer have the item or non-responders. Honestly I think OU is the worst I've used for hunting.
Goodwill/ReStore is a HUGE hit/miss, but mostly a miss for me.
I've even drove around neighborhoods trying to find things people curbed and it's a huge toss up that waste more gas than it's worth. Did manage to get a nice working Kitcheaid oven that someone trashed that needs a new grate that I'm considering testing some more and just keeping.
I'm really trying here. But is there somewhere or some app I'm missing where I might find stuff like I'm looking for?
