Fun places to drive to outside of Houston?

I’m buying a new car soon and would love to do a nice drive with it. I was wondering if anyone has recommendations for either of the following: – A nice drive, destination doesn’t matter but the roads make for a great drive – A fun destination for a day activity at least an hour outside the city
