Front yard tree suggestions?

I am new to gardening and trees. In the past I planted few trees in backyard and it did not do well( fruit trees)

Anyways, any suggestion on delicious trees for front yard? We need sun in winter and shade in summer on the house.

I want to plant something which is native so I do not have to worry about freeze and winters or summers.
