Friends landlord acknowledges property is mine but won’t give it back after eviction.

My friend had a warehouse & I stored some things there worth a bout $50k. Landlord admits it is my property them goes into say I shouldn't have left it in his place now it is theirs.Anyone ever hear of this happening? I can't find one thing in any state that allows a landlord to keep 3rd party property when they know who the owner is.
