Freedom over Texas fireworks

Can anyone share a good place to watch the fireworks? I don't care about the music or the festival, just would like to be able to get a good view of the fireworks without too much drama with crowds and parking.

It goes without saying that I'd like this to be legal and reasonably safe, pulling over on the Pierce elevated is probably not in my game plan…
