Free Wifi Availability

Visiting your city tomorrow for the week. How frequently do you connect to free wifi when you're out and about? Do most restaurants/bars and businesses offer free wifi?

It's $13 a day for me to add roaming to my crappy Canadian plan. I'd like to avoid those costs, if I can. Thanks again.
