Free Agency Predictions

Look, every team’s fan base thinks every halfway decent player wants to come to them in free agency. I know that. But it seems to me like the Texans this year are a special case (no state income tax, young head coach, young OC, young QB, young defensive core) and we have money to play with. Guys like Perryman, ward, and others are not want we want for our future, so who do we go out and get with all this money? Tee Higgins makes so much sense that it won’t happen, Chris jones would create one of the best d-lines in football but he’s getting older, saquon wants to stay a giant, Josh allen probably doesn’t make a lateral move from the jags to Texans but who knows what the money will look like, etc… Who do y’all like to come to Houston? Personally, I think Schultz, KF, tart, greenard, and Nelson are a good group to retain, but that still leaves so many holes. I’m truly torn on if we should trade guys like Bobby trees for more draft capital or if we should be selling picks for those kinda guys lol. We also may even have to get rid of tunsil this offseason. While we would love to keep him should we be valuing an aging star higher than like 2 first rounders from a team like jets? (I know that trade wouldnt make sense but you get my point). Tunsil keeps stroud healthy and is a top 3-5 guy but we have SO many young Oline man that my brain couldnt comprehend NONE of them being that guy. Building a dynasty with this young core starts with this off-season and keeping guys cause we think they could be good for another year isn’t the way we should view anything. I desperately don’t wanna become the next bills or packers, perennial contenders but can’t get over that hump because of a win now mentality instead of a “win each step of the process and things will pay off” mentality. Maybe that’s the bama fan in me who knows. Y’all tell me if I’m dumb for thinking this way and I’ll listen but shedding our old guys to top tier contending teams and maybe poaching a few picks or young guys seems smart.
