Founders of original Landry’s, Willie G’s to close last remaining restaurant, Jimmy G’s

Longtime Louisianan seafood restaurant Jimmy G’s is closing, and co-owners Jody Larriviere and Jim Gossen are retiring. 

The pair opened a number of restaurants, including the original Landry’s and Willie G’s, in the 1970s and 1980s. Over the years, their other restaurants have all been sold, mainly to Tilman Fertitta and his companies. A wholesale seafood company, Louisiana Foods, was sold to Houston-based Sysco Corp. (NYSE: SYY) in 2012.
