Food/Restaurant Recommendations for an Aus/Kiwi Traveller

Solo traveller after some food recs, predominantly in the downtown area, but staying around Brookesmith? Closest Metor Station is Calvalcade.

Basically looking for a couple of breakfast, lunch and dinner spots. I'm not super particular about types of food (very open to street food etc) but if there's anything specific to Houston that I may not find elsewhere on my travels (Austin, New Orleans, Portland OR, Nashville) that's an added bonus.

Budget is on the cheaper side ($-$$), but have planned to splurge on 1 meal per city.

If there are also any snacks/bakeries etc that are worthwhile, I'm also up for recs for that too, as well as if anyone has recs for the other cities I'm visiting, I'll take them too!
